The Facebook Project
These Facebook drawings and paintings started purely from a lack of inspiration. I had been using people and photos I was
familiar with, and after a while I was, well, bored. Shortly after joining Facebook, I found people I hadn't seen in months, with
families of their own and it occurred to me most of these pictures of children were amazingly arty. Not only did most of them
have great composition, they were unexpected poses, quick digital snaps that would look great in oil paint or pencil. After
making sure they were okay with me using their photos, I have begun this collection as a sort of homage to children and
their great, characteristic expressions and gestures. Whether as a blind contour piece, oil painting, or drawing, I've tried to
bring out not only their personality, but also their perspective. They are a connection to my past adventures, and a fresh start
to future projects.
