Blind Contouring
Blind contours are done by not taking your eyes away from the subject, but still drawing at the same time. By not
looking at the surface while you draw, the visual senses are kicked into overdrive, more detail is found, and many
interesting lines and shapes happen. Normally used as a warm up tool, I've begun using the process more routinely
for pen drawings, acrylic mixed media paintings, and oil paintings. Once I have the lines drawn, I start pushing and
pulling lines depending on what works best for the overall composition and medium I'm using.
