Statement
The studies of children I create today evolved from the 1997 birth of my niece Noelle. Her personality and warmth shifted my focus from studies of nudes to in-depth emotional works, laden with more color and personal attachment. Pieces created from 2002-2003 blended painting, drawing, and photographic images of Noelle to bring her to life in 2-D mixed media form. After using her images for several months, I began using old family photos for inspiration, creating drawings and paintings of my mother, father, sister, and even cousins.
